LEFCO was founded with the purpose of producing the world’s best custom wood crates. Since 2003, we have continuously expanded over the years, seeking to provide our customers with world class service, flexible wood crating solutions through on-time delivery and quality wood crating services.

LEFCO was founded through an acquisition of an Amish pallet manufacturing company located in Middlefield, OH. LEFCO employed a handful of employees and boasted only a couple of local customers.  The company occupied shared space in Middlefield, OH



LEFCO moved into a Cleveland, OH facility, tripling its footprint to 15,000 sq. ft.

LEFCO purchased the assets of International Container Systems, a Cleveland, OH based manufacturer of custom crating products



LEFCO began discussions around establishing a strategic alliance with a division of Worthington Industries (NYSE: WOR), Worthington Steelpac



LEFCO signed a multi-year lease and moved into a new facility in Cleveland, OH, doubling its footprint to 30,000 sq. ft.

LEFCO secured financing by recapitalizing its initial acquisition loan and by obtaining growth financing



LEFCO formed a joint venture with Worthington to further explore identified potential business opportunities and to solidify its relationship



LEFCO recapitalized its debt structure and improved its financial positioning



LEFCO obtained its ISO 9001-2008 quality certification

LEFCO received a grant from the Ohio Bureau of Worker’s Compensation to purchase assets to improve the safety of its operations.  Management invested additional funds and purchased several state-of-the-art pieces of equipment, significantly improving overall efficiency and operational safety throughout the business

LEFCO received its General Services Administration (GSA) Contract

LEFCO’s President received the Crain’s Cleveland Business 40 Under 40 Award



LEFCO fully incorporated its new TigerStop Saw within its production process and purchased a new semi-automatic pallet machine. The Tiger Saw completely revolutionized LEFCO’s lumber production, making our process more efficient and improved waste elimination. The pallet machine brought substantial efficiencies, generating an annual ROI of over 100%. Both pieces of equipment allowed LEFCO to increase its competitive positioning

The company’s President repurchased the 49% ownership controlled by Worthington Industries



LEFCO purchased a BEAM panel saw, a horizontal computerized panel saw that cut panel products, making our panel production process more efficient and safer. The ROI on this purchase was achieved within 8 months



LEFCO restructured its core business and exited the hardwood pallet manufacturing industry, placing its resources and time into custom wood crates



LEFCO purchased a new Bundle Saw, enabling the company to cut full bundles of lumber. This cutting efficiency provided the company with an 8 month payback on the investment, and significantly increased cutting capacity and employee utilization

LEFCO engaged MAGNET for business consulting services. MAGNET provided LEFCO with operational improvement and strategic consulting for the purpose of improving product flow throughout LEFCO’s manufacturing process and increased employee engagement
